High West: An Invigorating Aromatherapy Candle Blend

Amid the wild and untamed nature of the High West, there is a sense of excitement and energy from the sun-drenched earth. Best Health Co created the HIGH WEST candle to embody the dramatic and expansive elements of the American West.

This aromatherapy candle is intentionally curated using 100% pure aromatic essential oils to produce an invigorating experience. Desert pinyon, sage, & cedar lead the way, while subtle notes of cypress and juniper complete this adventurous and revitalizing aroma.

The aromatherapy profile of each botanical can be complex and unique. The following is a breakdown of each essential oil we use in our HIGH WEST Candle blend.

DESERT PINYON

Wildcrafted & artisan distilled desert pinyon essential oil is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of the high-altitude Pinus edulis conifer ethically harvested from Utah's remote, high-altitude deserts. Aromatically, desert pinyon essential oil has soft, floral-fruity top notes, a range of terpenic-buttery notes, and a deep resinous base.

Desert pinyon grows at elevations between 3,000 - 10,000 feet. It is native to and abundant in the Four Corners area of the US - Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, with a distribution that has expanded into nearby states and Northern Mexico. Considered the 'Tree of Life' in Native American culture and folklore, the seeds from this tree are edible, and the wood, when burned, acts as an insect and mosquito repellent.

Aside from promoting healthy lung and airway function, when applied topically, desert pinyon essential oil is soothing to inflamed joints and can promote healthy circulation. In addition, desert pinyon can help boost a compromised immune system, support healthy adrenal function, lessen the presence of unwanted fungal activity, and ease sore throats and headaches. The essential oil is skin healing and rejuvenating and can help with cuts, wounds, and burns. Desert pinyon essential oil is a superior cleanser for keeping the air fresh at home.

Desert pinyon essential oil strengthens and rejuvenates emotionally and energetically. It is known in aromatherapy for its uplifting and purifying qualities, which support nearly every body system. It offers air clearing benefits and promotes the release of negative emotions with its uplifting and cleansing effect on our environment.

CLARY SAGE

Our clary sage essential oil is steam distilled from the pastel purple flowers and soft green leaves of the perennial Salvia sclarea plant. It is cultivated in the colorful fields of the French mountains. With its fresh, warm, sweet-herbaceous, and slightly bitter undertones with touches of tea and tobacco, clary sage essential oil can soothe nerves and emotions in times of instability.

Clary sage is uplifting and nourishing emotionally and energetically. It is well suitable for formulations intended to manage situational anxiety, restful sleep, relaxation, and promote a sense of calm. Clary sage essential oil allows for creative inspiration and is supportive in times of indecision or emotional confusion.

HIMALAYAN CEDAR

Our Himalayan cedar essential oil is steam distilled from the beautiful wood of Cedrus deodara trees harvested wild in the forests of the Himalayan Mountains in India. Cedar essential oil has an incredibly therapeutic capacity and a beautiful, rounded aroma, especially in the middle. Himalayan cedar oil undergoes an aging process that gives it a greater depth of aroma and concentration of therapeutic compounds.

Himalayan Cedars are particularly sacred trees in Hinduism, giving them their name deodara, meaning 'Timber of the Gods'. For centuries, cedar deodara trees were believed to be indestructible.

Since ancient times, Himalayan cedar essential oil has been used in holistic applications and cosmetics. Therapeutic application of the oil helps manage minor pain and inflammation and promotes clear breathing by supporting healthy lungs.

This gorgeously aromatic essential oil is grounding and calming energetically and emotionally. Additionally, Himalayan cedar essential oil supports the nervous system and is exceptionally stabilizing during stressful transitions.

CYPRESS

Our cypress essential oil is steam distilled from the brightly aromatic cones, leaves, and branches of the Cupressus sempervirens trees growing wild in the hills and mountains of Spain. With a tenacious aroma that is fresh, clean, deep green balsamic with a slightly woody undertone, cypress essential oil is herbaceous, spicy, and somewhat woody.

Originating from Southern Europe, it is now primarily cultivated in France, Spain, and Morocco. Cypress trees are long-lived and do not decay quickly. The Greeks chose cypress wood to sculpt statues of their immortal gods. Cypress essential oil supports wellness and a healthy environment with its natural and therapeutic aroma while allowing you to deepen your breath and offering relaxation during times of stress.

Cypress is an uplifting, gently stimulating oil ideal for aromatherapy and other wellness applications to energize and uplift the body and mind. The oil is also welcome support during periods of situational anxiety and depression.

JUNIPER BERRY

Our juniper berry essential oil is steam distilled from the stunning blue-colored berries of the Juniperus communis evergreen tree found in the forested regions of India. The essential oil's fresh, woody-balsamic, slightly sweet aroma has a long history of traditional wellness applications for the mind and body.

Juniper berry essential oil is a bright, forest-like scent that blends well with essential oils in the wood, conifer, herbaceous, and floral families. With its richly balsamic and resinous-sweet aroma, juniper berry essential oil invigorates, strengthens, and refreshes the mind and body.

Juniper's tantalizing and fresh aroma can cause a calming, grounding effect by cleansing and purifying the air. Its properties have traditionally been shown to strengthen the nervous system. At the same time, its uplifting effects offer support in times of weakness, low energy, and anxiety.
